I run the HDMI from the MAC to my Yamaha Receiver, and HDMI "pure" from Yamaha to my Samsung TV, i have had some problems With the sync, so that the Movies dont play correctly, but found that when powering tv off and power on solves the problem. When testing i streamed Movies to 5 Devices at the same time from the Mac mini, and i think it was only using 40% on the CPU, so is more than enough Power in this Box for my use.
I was thinking of getting 16gb of ram for the Mac, but so far i stil have 1gb of free memory on the Mac. Thanks to advise from Phroenips, i now since last night Connect With my Nas machines on NFS, and so far this Works fine. (this happends on Samba and AFP, it was 4 shares on two different NAS machines and only two mounted Automatic on reboot, and it was random witch shares got mounted) The Mac mini is realy snappy browsing, but so far i have had some problems with the Mac loosing Connection to my NAS shares,this disconnecting never happend on my Windows server. I used to have a Popcornhour and a Boxee Box to play my media, but now they felt a bit "laggy" browsing my media. I used to run my Plex server on a i7-3930 cpu on Windows 8, and this has been rock solid as a server, now it is my Plex Backupserver. I am using it as Plex server and Plex Client. I have my New Mac Mini I7 With 4gb ram in my TV rack.
